APN Settings

Everything you need to get a Citrus eSIM online, on one page you can read offline

Your APN values

Try them in this order. Any one of them works worldwide.

  1. 1globaldata
  2. 2internet
  3. 3ispplus
  4. 4orange
  5. 5orange.fr

These are not country-specific. The same values apply in all 218 destinations, on 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G. Leave username, password, and every other field blank. If your phone asks for an APN type, use default, supl.

Save this before you travel. You need the APN at exactly the moment your phone has no connection, so bookmark this page or take a screenshot while you still have Wi-Fi.

Where to enter it

iPhone

  1. Open Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data)
  2. Tap the Citrus line
  3. Tap Cellular Data Network
  4. Under Cellular Data, type the APN into the APN field
  5. Leave username and password blank, then go back and toggle Airplane Mode on and off

No Cellular Data Network option? Your phone is not letting the line be edited yet. Restart the phone, make sure the Citrus line is selected for data, and check again.

Android

  1. Open Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs (wording varies by brand)
  2. Select the Citrus eSIM
  3. Tap Access Point Names, then + to add one
  4. Set Name to Citrus and APN to one of the values above
  5. Save it, select it as the active APN, then toggle Airplane Mode on and off

On Samsung the path is usually Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.

Still no data?

The APN is the third thing to check, not the first. Nearly every no-data report is one of these three.

Turn Data Roaming on for the Citrus line

This is the universal permission for an eSIM to get data abroad. Without it, no eSIM connects, even on a perfect network. It does not cost anything extra: your Citrus rate is the same either way.

Restart your phone

It sounds too simple, but it is the fix roughly a third of the time. The phone has to re-register on the local network after the eSIM installs.

Check that your phone is carrier-unlocked

No eSIM works on a locked phone. On iPhone, check Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock; it should read "No SIM restrictions". Your carrier can unlock it, usually free once the phone is paid off.

APN questions

What is the APN for a Citrus Mobile eSIM?
Any of globaldata, internet, ispplus, orange, or orange.fr will work. They are not country-specific, so the same value works everywhere Citrus has coverage. Start with globaldata and work down the list if it does not connect.
Do I need to set an APN at all?
Usually not. Most phones configure the APN automatically when the eSIM installs. You only need to set it manually if you have no data after installing, which normally means the APN field was left blank by your phone.
Do I need internet to set the APN?
No. The APN is typed into your phone settings and does not require a connection. That is why this page exists: bookmark or screenshot it before you travel, so you have the values when you are offline.
What username and password does the APN need?
None. Leave the username, password, and any other optional fields blank. Only the APN name itself matters. Set the APN type to default, supl if your phone asks for one.

Tried all of it and still offline?
